This information is from my new book, Exposing the Truth about the Qur’an, The Revelation of Error, Vol 2, which should give you the answer to your question. Als Mohammed’s Prophecies
To provide evidence of Mohammed having been given successful prophecies, Muslims most often allude to various verses in which Mohammed promised victory to his army. The passage from the Qur’an most often cited as proof of Mohammed’s prophecy is Qur’an 30:2-4: 2The Rūm[1] are defeated. 3In a near part of the land and after having been defeated, they will be victorious. 4Within a few years, to Allah is the affair, before and after and on that day, the believers will rejoice. This is said to predict that after an initial victory by the Persians, the Romans would be victorious over the Persians after a few years. However, there were no details for this prophecy. When, where, who, and how are missing from this claim of prophecy. Imagine if I tell you that in the next nine years the rain will fall near your house. Would you consider my statement to be a prophecy? That is what Mohammed did.
Moreover, the words which are written in the verse above, the Rūm are defeated…after having been defeated, can be read in the Arabic language as jholbat (lost) or jhalbat (won), depending on how the word is pronounced. Both are in the past tense, but obviously give differing meanings to the verse.
Since the Qur’an was originally written without tashkeel (Arabic diacritical marks), a person can pronounce the word either way, as lost or as won. In verse 3, the same word can be read the following ways: sayaghlibuna (they shall defeat) or sayughlabuna (they shall be defeated), both in the future tense. This in itself can end the claim that Mohammed gave a prophecy. No matter what took place in the battlefield, Mohammed’s prophecy was fulfilled.
Look at this one prediction or prophecy made in Qur’an 30:2-4 regarding the Roman Empire having been defeated in a land close by; but they, even after this defeat of theirs, would soon be victorious within a few years. The Persians defeated the Romans at the capture of Jerusalem about A.D. 614. The counter-offensive began about 622 and resulted in victory in 625, which was at least ten or eleven years after the prediction and possibly closer to thirteen or fourteen.
Uthman’s edition of the Qur’an (after he burned the original copies of the Qur’an) was written after this battle was won, after the claim of the prophecy was fulfilled. His interpretation has no vowel points, and these were added much later. Therefore, the word sayaghlibuna (they shall defeat) could have been rendered sayughlabuna (they shall be defeated) which makes this prediction suspect. Moreover, a perceptive reading of the trends of the time could very well have led to the conclusion that the Romans would bounce back. Compare this with certain biblical prophecies, which are amazing in their details of time, place, and people, to the extent that individuals have been called by name before they were born.
Some totally failed prophecies which the Muslims try to ignore are written in Qur’an 59:14 14They will not engage in war together against you except in fortress villages or from behind walls…. The nation of Israel certainly proved that wrong in the 20th century when the Muslim nations attempted to wipe them out. They certainly “engaged in war against” them, and very successfully!
I would like to share such an obviously false prophecy that is written in the Qur’an. In Qur’an 109, Allah said:1Say, “O you, the infidels, 2I do not serve what you serve, 3and you do not serve what I serve. 4And I will not serve what you have served, 5and you will not serve what I serve. 6To you your religion, and to me is my religion.”
Notice in verse 5, Allah said that the people of Quraish will not serve Allah. What is amazing is that soon after Mohammed wrote theses verses, almost all the people of Quraish believed in Mohammed and served Allah.
1He (Mohammed) frowned and turned away 2when the blind man came to him.
Also, Mohammed is dead. Jesus is alive. So, who is greater?
The best way to criticize Islam is to criticize Islam (the words of Allah in the Qur’an and the words and actions of Mohammed in the hadith), not the Muslims (the people who are the victims of Islam). You cannot do this without knowing Islam. The more you know about Islam, the better you will be equipped to criticize Islam.
There is no such thing as a cultural Muslim. Islam covers all prospects of life from before conception until after burial.
Understand, there is not one verse in the New Testament that teaches to do what Allah commanded the Muslims to practice throughout the Qur’an. We do not judge a religion by what people say or do, but by what is written in their book. In Islam, there are over 350 verses that teach hate, war, jihad, terrorism, beheading and all types of killings, and not one abrogated verse that teaches love or peace. On the other hand, the Bible is filled with verses about love and peace, not only to those we love, but even to our enemies. So no matter what Christians do, when Christians do what’s not right, they are sinning against God. When Muslims do the same (hate, killings, raping, etc.), they are actually practicing the commands of Allah in the Qur’an and of Mohammed throughout the hadith.
I do not want you to criticize Islam by using your own words but simply quote for your husband Allah’s words in the Qur’an and Mohammed’s words in the hadith. Following his (your husband’s) religion will lead him to hell while following Christ will lead to eternal life. This is the reason why he should leave Islam. By the way, not believing in Christ will also lead to hell. In John 14:6 Jesus says: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
